Golf Day in aid of Polio Eradication

Tue 22nd August 2017 at 16.00 - 23.00

Our annual golf day at Aspley Guise and Woburn Sands Golf Club is the most important way in which we contribute to Rotary International's fight to eradicate polio from the world.

For many years Rotary International has been participating in the fight to eradicate polio from the world.  You can find out much more about this campaign at

From the above 'action' photo it looks as though Garrie Brandon has a StarWars light sabre in his hands! However, it was not magical enough to let his team win the 10th annual Milton Keynes Grand Union Rotary Polio Eradication Golf Championship held at Aspley Guise and Woburn Sands Golf Club, which is our main contribution to this campaign.

This 9 hole competition was fiercely contested with the winning team of Mark Simpkins, Phil Duckering and Colin Armstrong assembling an unbeatable score of 43 points.

As always the real winner is the Polio Eradication Charity that Rotary supports worldwide and a fantastic £2,200 was raised from the event.

The winning team were presented with their trophy by MKGU Rotary Club President, Ganesh Gudka.

Our thanks to Woburn Golf and Country Club, Stantonbury Theatre, Poplars Nurseries and Golf Professional Richard Lally for their generous support with our prizes.
