Rob, 38, is the third son of Rtn John Clarke and is a graduate of AtlanticCollege in St Donats, a graduate in History from Royal Holloway College, London University and has taught History and Politics at schools in North London and Merseyside. Rated as outstanding by OFSTED he is at present Assistant Head Teacher at the Archbishop Blanch Secondary School in Liverpool which has around 1000 pupils, all girls. His main responsibility is what we of a certain age would call The 6th Form and it has been a particularly challenging time for him dealing with the complexities of covid 19 and its impact on A levels and GCSEs. Rob's talk which was greeted with rapt attention (wake up at the back there!) centred very much on the seismic impact of the covid virus on not only the education of young people but also their well being both physical and mental. Most teachers have spent much time in both term time and the summer holidays distributing educational materials, keeping contact with students and their families and critically, delivering food parcels to those (and there are many) who qualify for free school meals.

What came over very strongly is that a School is so much more than a
factory for turning out exam results and topping league tables. It produces well informed, well balanced, sociable and highly motivated members of society.
