24th November 2022 EGMPresident Rob Gray

Prior to the EG Meeting Rob mentioned the very successful Bjorn Again Event held on Saturday, our first since the pandemic.  He particularly wanted to thank Jane and Maggie for all their work in planning and organising the Raffle which generated £685; Ian was also thanked for his work in providing the bar in a difficult environment. Overall, a great success raising in total £2649, a sell out to an enthusiastic audience who danced and sang along from start to finish! It had also been the Christmas Party for the Memory Café this afternoon, again a great success with around 40 attending to listen to Robert Miles children singing and our very own short Pantomime, thanks to Gerry and her team!

The EGM proceeded with emphasis made on the need to find a President Nominee.  A couple of Business matters were raised: Michael raised the matter of a £300 sponsorship for Bingham Children’s Club (preschool for deprived families Christmas presents) together with ‘Tweedle Muffs’ for Moorlands Day Centre, which was voted and carried. Alan F then raised the concept of encouraging/supporting the set up of a food bank for Bingham; a Zoom meeting about this subject due on 6 December.

Rob had the organised a ‘Pointless’ game with 4 teams of 5, the winners turning out as Team ‘A’: Adrian, Alan, Bill, Clive and Michael with Peter managing the scoring.       AR
