Zoe benefits from Young Chef experience

Dalton schoolgirl serves up a tasty meal

Each year Rotary in Cumbria and Lancashire brings together some of the area's finest young chefs as they compete against each other for the title of Rotary Young Chef of the year.

After intense local heats across Cumbria and Lancashire the finalists where whittled down to nine competitors from years 7 to 11.

The final took place at the Lakes School at Troutbeck Bridge and was graced by the presence of the High Sheriff of Cumbria.

The Rotary Club of Furness was represented by Zoe Wright from Dowdales School at Dalton.

The standard of food produced (main course and sweet) was of outstanding quality and each contestant should be extremely proud of their achievements.

Zoe was supported by her parents and her tutor Louisa Gibson. She was awarded 3rd place which is a brilliant outcome in the face of such tough competition.

Club President Brian and Youth Committee Lead Martin were full of praise for Zoe, and her parents were overjoyed with her success.

Well done Zoe, Louisa and Dowdales School.
