Dougie receives one of Rotary's highest awards

Dougie Fisher is named an honorary member

At our meeting on Wednesday 17th April 2024, on behalf of the club, President Brian Boyd made Dougie Fisher an honorary member of the club.

Honorary membership is one of the highest distinctions in Rotary, and 90 year-old Dougie received it in recognition of his steadfast support of our club and Operation Smile, the charity which corrects children with cleft in 3rd world countries.

Children with cleft are often shunned by their society, but corrective surgery gives them a new life.

Picture shows Dougie on the right receiving his pin badge from President Brian on the left. The man in the middle is Past President Dave Ward.
