Golf Charity Day –
Following the success of last year’s Charity Golf Day, Woodbridge School and the Rotary Club of Woodbridge are jointly organising the 2nd annual Charity Golf Day, hosted by Woodbridge Golf Club.

Charity Golf Day

The 2nd Annual Charity Golf Day, jointly organised by the Rotary Club of Woodbridge and Woodbridge School raised a fantastic £6822.  Our thanks go to the Woodbridge Golf Club where the event was run and especially to the Captain of the Golf Club, John Sankey, for his involvement.

This year the amount raised will be divided evenly between East Anglia's Children's Hospices, St. Elizabeth's Hospice and the Deben Family Centre.

The day was a great success with 32 teams of 4 players, each team playing both the 18 hole Heath course and the 9 hole Forest course.  The players had a very enjoyable day's golf, playing in glorious sunshine and with a superb lunchtime buffet being provided by the Golf Club.  The two winning teams were:

The 18 hole Stableford Team Prizes - 'The Woodbridge Warriors' (Peter Sledmere, Robert Sledmere, Timmy Johnson, and Olly Johnson).

The 9 hole Texas Scramble Team Prizes - 'Marriott's Mates' (Derek Marriott, Colin Davies, Steve Runnacles, and Martin Makey).

Many teams had such a great time that they requested the event be held again next year.  Watch this space!!

Woodbridge Rotary is a friendly group of local men and ladies who support local and international charity and fundraising events.  We meet weekly and have monthly social events where partners are welcomed.  If this appeals to you, find out more by contacting Roger Burgess on 01394 384097 or visit www.woodbridgerotary.org.uk
