This chart indicates the increasing interest shown in the Young Citizen Award by Districts in RIBI as each year passes. Rotary is proud to offer a high profile showcase for young peoples' achievements in the realm of outstanding citizenship.

Well, I wonder if we can make it to the final 5 in RIBI for the third year running…..?

Two years ago a group called Clitheroe Youth Forum was televised in Dublin at the RIBI Conference for creating a Ribble Valley Roll of Honour that had never existed before and for corresponding with the MOD to ensure that Ribble Valley veterans who had never received their campaign medals did so.

In 2012 Rabiya Ahmed was televised in Bournemouth at the RIBI Conference for creating and training an Asian girls’ football team – a ground-breaking project which she is working tirelessly to expand and improve.

Rabiya Ahmed televised live with Ellie Crisell for BBC News 24 at the RIBI Conference in Bournemouth, 2012

This year to make it easier for those clubs entering a group there is a separate entry form. Please use the right one - they are clearly labelled!    Click here to download an nomination form  Please keep the page for supplementary information succinct as what will impress the judges more will be evidence from newspaper cuttings etc.

Do you know of a young person (or group of young people) up to the age of 25yrs in your area who shows outstanding citizenship? Identify them now & ask them to save DVDs & newspaper cuttings to give added value to their nomination which will be made by your Club early in 2013. Download the appropriate nomination form above (one for an individual or one for a group) and send to RIBI where the final date for submission is February 28th

It just remains for me to say “Good Luck”.

It is very heartwarming that Rotary recognises the achievements of young people by celebrating them in this way. District 1190 I’m sure can continue to find altruistic young people of this calibre.
