Competition results 2016

Five schools took part and the standard of practical work and written portfolios was really high this year. The judges had a very difficult task.

Young Textile Technologist 2016 - 2017

This is designed to complete competitions for the Design and Technology subjects taught in schools and should not therefore be aimed at Art/Textiles departments.

Aims:

  • To encourage students to enjoy designing and making using textile material
  • To improve their designing and making skills and  their confidence when using machinery
  • To encourage more students to choose textiles as an exam subject at Key Stage 4 [ GCSE] and even A level where possible.
  • To encourage schools to continue teaching Textile Technology at all levels.

 Who can take part?

Initially this competition will be open to students in full time education who are in KS3 -Years 8 or 9 during the academic year 2016-2017.
