The actress Shirley Anne Field presented a cheque for £35,536.54 on behalf of the clubs to Professor Stan Kaye at the Drug Development Unit of The Royal Marsden Hospital, in Sutton on Friday 11th January 2008.

With a 60kg box balanced on his head, a Bangldeshi man makes his precarious way across a bridge built from a single tree branch. In the box is a 10-person tent, blankets, cooking equipment, tools and a selection of other equipment supplied by the disaster relief charity ShelterBox.

20/09/2007 Rotary Flood Disaster Appeal Reaches £300,000
Rotary Clubs across the country have responded to the national Rotary Flood Disaster Appeal set up in response to the devastation caused by the recent flooding. Appeals were set up initially by Rotary in Yorkshire and Gloucestershire but when other areas became affected, a central appeal was launched with a separate fund. To date Rotarians have responded magnificently, both in service and fund raising and more than £300,000 has been raised.
