DetailsThe Rotary Club of Dunmow is part of a global organisation with approximately 1.4 million members across over 200 countries. The strength of a large organisation allows us to support our local communities and participate in global Rotary humanitarian projects.
When we meet (New schedule, as below, from May 7th 2026)
We meet regularly at the Saracens Head Hotel, Great Dunmow, with a relaxed mix of social and formal gatherings:
1st Thursday – Lunchtime meeting - 12:30 for 13:00 lunch
2nd Thursday – Lunchtime meeting - 12:30 for 13:00 lunch
3rd Thursday – Evening meeting - 18:00 for 18:30 dinner
4th Thursday – Lunchtime meeting - 12:30 for 13:00 lunch
5th Thursday (if applicable) – Special Friday evening event with partners & friends
Rotary welcomes anyone aged 18 and above with a passion for helping their local communities. We’re always delighted to welcome new members.

There is also a nearby club, the Rotary Club of Takeley. They meet at an alternative day and time, fortnightly at 8pm on a Wednesday evening in the Little Canfield Village Hall, although the location does change occasionally, so please email to check.

What projects do we run?
* Santa's sleigh rounds in Takeley and Little Canfield and Santa Collections at Tesco and the Co-op.
* The Rotary Rose Bowl Quiz.
* Stroke Awareness campaign.
* Support for local athletes with funds raised at the Sports Personality Dinner.
* The international Polio eradication campaign.
* Metal detection rally.
* Provision of Shelter boxes and Aquaboxes to international disaster areas, working with our Rotarian friends across the world.

We also offer active support for local events such as the Flitch Trials and annual Carnival and Christmas Fairs.

We organise competitions for young people, with prizes, every year.
