As literally nearly everyone in the world knows we are experiencing exciting times which have resulted in drastic action.
For the time being all scheduled meetings and activities of the club have been suspended as per HM Government guidelines. To be specific we will not be holding any physical meetings at Cheyne Walk nor anywhere else until, at the earliest, 1st May.
It is planned to send a weekly newssheet to all club members, our partners and Friends of the club to keep everyone updated. We are also investigating the feasibility of a weekly online meeting a la e-club. If you are a Rotarian planning to visit us it would be best if you used the contact page to get in touch.
Officially we are the Rotary Club of the Nene Valley, but that's a bit over the top for everyday use, so are generally known as Rotary Nene Valley. We are based in Northampton, county town of Northamptonshire in the English East Midlands. Unlike the other clubs in these parts we don't include 'Northampton' in our club name - we like to be different.
Feel free to have a poke around and get a feel for what we do and what we are about. If it sounds like the sort of club you might like to be involved with, please get in touch by clicking on the Red 'Membership Enquiry' Button found by scrolling right down to the bottom of this page, filling in the form which then pops up, and we'll be in touch.
If you're already in Rotary and want to visit, get in touch by using the Contact Us button above (right at the top) and choosing 'A Visiting Rotarian' on the Subject drop-down.
Our name: In case you are wondering, Nene is pronounced to rhyme with men and not with mean. The latter is how misguided folk nearer the sea pronounce the name of OUR river. It doesn't sound like NayNay either. A NeNe is a Hawaiian goose related to Canadas but much rarer.
So don't be surprised if you're shouted down when mispronouncing our name - we are kinda proud of it.
As above, if you have had a look round and think that Rotary might be for you, get in touch with us by clicking on that Red Button, at the bottom of this page.
Technology Tournament: We are proud to have been organisers of an annual Technology Tournament, open to teams from all secondary schools in Northamptonshire. It was the first in D1070 and ran for 14 years. We still provide suport to other clubs who are interested in continuing the challenge.
ShelterBox: Do you want to help us to provide shelter and basic help for people in disaster areas like Pakistan? If so, and you have a mobile phone, see below and get texting.
