Walk a mile for Polio

Sat, Oct 23rd 2021 at 11:00 am - 11:30 pm

Sponsored walk through the centre of Darwen to raise awareness of Polio and to raise funds for its global eradication

For over 40 years Rotary International has been battleing to eradicate Polio from the world.

Last year Africa was declared Polio Free and the wild polio virus is now only endemic in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Rotarians across Cumbria and Lancashire will be walking a mile that morning. No individual will be asked to sponsor a walker for more than £1 but as many pounds as possible will be welcomed.

Every pound raised will be matched 2 for 1 by the Bill and Malinda Gates Foundation.
