Held in the Margaretting Suite, Ivy Hill Hotel, Rotarians and their guests enjoyed a welcome drink - followed by a three course dinner.
After the meal, President Nigel Wagland gave an excellent speech - pointing out how life was when the club was incorporated in 1975. It was extremely interesting.
District 1240 President Elect David Willis then addressed the diners; he is to become President in a week or so, so his coming to our celebration was appreciated . He spoke movingly of a 'magic Rotary moment', when a raffle ticket 'saved' a young mother's Christmas.
Nigel gave us The Final Toast.
We then enjoyed our Singer & Entertainer, Dan Sharp, who played and sang music to enjoy and for the active ladies, to dance the night away.
In past years, we've had greater numbers attend this key event in our Rotary Year - however, the evenong went off well and those who came, made the most of what had been well organised by Noelle & Nigel - not forgetting Libby and her staff at Ivy Hill.
