The club had an evening out with spouses and guests at the South Coast College restaurant in Hastings on 11th January 2017. The menu was the winning dishes from the November local round of the Young Chef competition which was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Senlac

Following the meal Chris Folley, organiser for the club, spoke about the competition and introduced Paul Webbe, a local restauranteur, who was one of the judges. Paul praised the entrants for the quality of their cooking and said how close the competition had been. Paul then presented the prizes and certificates to overall winner Megan Warren of St Leonards Academy and to runner-up, Zachary Allen. The third placed competitor, Brandon Cobra-Lower, wasn’t able to come.
Megan will represent the club at the District finals in Maidstone on 28th January.
