Some fifty Rotarians, guests, staff and students joined together for an international meal at the Pestalozzi Village on 27thSeptember. Before the buffet meal of traditional dishes from the students’ home countries there was the chance to meet and talk to both staff and students about the village, their education and their aspirations for the future. Rotarian Fitz Fitz-Graham, a member of the club’s international committee, took the chair and thanked the staff for the meal before introducing Sue Walton, the Chief Executive of the Pestalozzi village. Sue spoke about the work of the village, the constant need to raise funds to support the organisation and their fund raising activities. This was followed by a talk from Zimbabwean student, Ruramai Chivasa, who is the President of the Pestalozzi Village Rotract Club. She spoke very confidently about the activities of her club and what they did in the local community.
