At the club’s meeting on 29th November, members enjoyed a talk about Homecall, a home visiting scheme for the visually impaired in Bexhill.
Originally there were several branches throughout Sussex but Bexhill is the only one remaining. Senlac Rotarian, Peter Stiles, who is the chairman of the charity, introduced Homecall Scheme Manager Claire Prime who gave a presentation which detailed how the charity started and has been able to remain running in Bexhill.
We learnt about some of the ways Homecall is a huge support to those living with sight loss in the area. Claire told us about the incredible volunteers and remarkable clients that she meets and finished by explaining all the different ways that people can get involved, the website address is www.myhomecall.org or you can follow Homecall on facebook http://www.facebook.com/homecallbexhill. After the talk Claire demonstrated some of the aids that are available to help the visually impaired.
