Senlac St Leonards Rotary's International committee organised a dinner at the Shiplu in Bexhill to raise funds to help install a safe water hydrant in a remote part of Bhutan. One consequence of the installation will be that children will miss much less education as they will be ill less and will not have to collect water.

KIm Hollis, the Rotary organiser, said the evening raised over £500 which, when added to money she had also raised, will be sufficient to buy a SkyHydrant.
The club would like to thank Kim for organising an enjoyable evening and Abul Azad of the Shiplu for his hospitality and the wonderful buffet.

This link gives further information about the project. and illustrates the importance of the sky hydrant, and it’s effect as far as the school, children of Bhutan are concerned.
Bhutan is a very mountainous region and a lot of its schools are located in very remote regions, and it is those regions in particular which will be targeted first for the provision of clean water by the Rotary club of Thimpu .
The money has been sent to purchase our sky hydrant and the funds finally arrived in Australia yesterday, so it will join the others that are being shipped to Bhutan for installation in the near future.
