This week our speaker was Alice Dewey, General Manager of Cambridge City Football Club which is now in Sawston.
The Satchell family have been instrumental in purchasing the land and paying for the build.
Alice has overseen the project for the last 4 years, and her family have been with the club for over 40 years.
The first game was played in late November last year, which was a ticketed game with 1450 people attending,
There is much left to do inside the building, which they hope will be the hub of the village,
There are lots of teams in the club for men, women various aged kids teams and 2 ParAbility teams.
The stadium will be for 3000 people, 573 of which is seated. There is parking for 250 cars,
Conference rooms and an education centre will be in the new building.
