5th September 2026 Nissi’s Place Sensory Playroom

Today we celebrated the opening of Nissi’s Place, a Sensory Playroom at Blackthorn Community Centre. It was created in partnership with Growing Together Nursery and Northamptonshire Children’s Trust and funded by Rotary Becket. The brilliant playroom is a free facility for the Nursery and wider community.

Each Year Rotary Becket has a golf competition for Members and Friends.  The details of the results!

26th August 2026 Bound for Ukraine

Donald Loe presented a generator donated by the members of Northampton RC and Stephen Coombs from St Christopher’s Care Home Abington hygiene products , at breakfast meeting. With President Jackie Barnaby and David Smith who is coordinating Becket's 3rd Ambulance project to deliver humanitarian aid departing in September. A super hybrid meeting with Hanna Levon from the Ukrainian Rotary Impact Club of Rutland as guest speaker. Hanna described how the Impact group was formed by Ukrainian families forced to move to the U.K. at the start of the war. Its aim is to support both their local community and provide medical equipment aid to Ukraine.

12th August 2026

Thanks to Overstone Park Ltd for supporting our joint project to sow wild flowers adjacent to the golf course at Overstone Park Golf Club.
A team of Rotary Club of Northampton Becket members who are also golfers seeded an area in the spring which came up last month brilliantly. Today Ron Cross & Simon Sherry erected signs to show their location. Look out for them when you next tee off

11th August 2026 Tea at Methodist Homestead

A small team from Rotary Becket served an afternoon tea to residents at The Methodist Homestead today. It was a fun and fellowship afternoon with the excellent Lincoln Noel at the piano.

30th July 2026 5th Wednesday at Fernie Fields

Rotary Becket give support to Sport4Fitness CIC. At Fernie Fields, they offer inclusive multi sports, physical activities and well being sessions. Our visiting party was given a guided tour by Steve Rockall and Ian Flaxman of the Avery Pavilion and their expanding gardening projects. We then enjoyed fellowship by sharing an excellent buffet at the Fernie Fields Sports and Social Club. A lovely evening

20th July 2026 Trip to Wicksteed Park

Rotary Becket was pleased to sponsor part of PASIC (Parents Association of Seriously Ill Children) fun day at Wicksteed Park. The day gave children and their families a chance to enjoy a fun day out spending quality time together away from hospitals

11th July 2026 4th Annual Becket Derby

Another successful, sun-filled Becket Derby is in the books!
On Saturday, 11th July, over 130 friends, families, and supporters gathered at the home of Rotarian Robert Shoebridge for our 4th Annual Becket Derby Day.
From thrilling hobby horse races kept alive by dice-throwing kids, to a delicious BBQ with fresh strawberries and ice cream, it was a beautiful afternoon of fun and community spirit

10th July 2026. Sensory Room Fitout

The Rotary Becket Community Team were in action again this morning equipping a sensory room previously decorated by Rotary Club of Northampton Becket with equipment supplied by the Club to benefit the children supported by Growing Together Northampton Nursery and in the wider community in #northampton.

Thanks go to Past President Lynn Kitchen (pictured) & Community Chair Jane Simpson for coping with the heat on this day

1st July 2026 Hand-over

July 1st brought the beginning of a new Rotary Year when Lynn Kitchen handed over the position of President of Rotary Club of Northampton Becket to Jackie Barnaby.

Jackie told the Club at our Wednesday Meeting:

“The Rotary Message this Year, Is… “Create Lasting Impact”. I think these three words perfectly capture what Rotary is all about, whether it's through the projects we deliver, the people we support and the friendships we build.”

28th June 2026 Joint Project with Northampton Scouts

The Northampton Scouts & Rotary Becket have partnered to build and install bird boxes across Northampton.
Mike Rushton of 1st Wootton Club Scouts & Rotary Becket Member Bob Dick are seen with the first products. 
Rotary Becket  provides the pre-cut wooden pieces, which the Scouts then assemble to earn activity badges.

26th June 2026 Marie Curie Collection 

Members and friends of Rotary Club of Northampton Becket were at Tesco Community Northampton South Mere Way all day today collecting as volunteers for Marie Curie Charity. The shoppers and staff have been very generous, thank you!

17th June 2026 2026 Ambulance for Ukraine

Our Club's Assembly Incoming President Jackie Barnaby presented her proposals for the Rotary Year 2026-27.
In addition to the usual Community and International Projects the Club approved another Ambulance for Ukraine Project to be delivered filled with Humanitarian Aid in October. The proposal by David Smith  was unanimously approved by the Membership.

10th June 2026 Rotary Chiddren's Fun Day

We have received some lovely thank you cards from Headlands Primary School, who we hosted at the recent Rotary Children's Fun Day at Wickstead Park. 
What can we say? LETS DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR

5th June 2026 Annual Golf Day

The Club had it's annual Charity event at Northampton Golf Club

20th May 2026 Annual Karting Evening

Corporate teams had a great time competing at the Rotary Club of Northampton Becket annual Karting evening at Whilton Mill Go Karting and Outdoor activities when the teams competed to be the winners.
Winners were ‘Ilmor Engineering’ with an impressive 139 laps, DSA came 2nd with 135 laps and 3rd was Torquemeters with 132 laps. Fastest lap of the night was also set by Ilmor with 49.519 seconds.
Well done all!

29th May 2026 Murder Evening

Fundraising Chair Martin Thornton thanked all those involve in the Murder Mystery Evening on 29th May when in excess of £1,250 was raided in support out Rotary Club of Northampton Becket community projects with two teams identifying that the Butler did it!  Thanks to the caste. A fun evening!

21st May 2026 Minor Sports Round

Yesterday our club took on  Rotary Club of Rushden in our latest Minor Sports challenge. Great fun was had by all as they welcomed us to the venue they chose in central Northampton. The Albion brewery and bar provided  tasty suppers for us all and of course a wide range of drinks to help us on the way in playng some traditional games. The outcome proved in the visiting Club's favour as Rushden triumphed 11points to 9 after a well contested competition.

13th May 2026 Rotary Becket Inducts a new Member 

At this morning's meeting of the Club President Lynn Kitchen was delighted to induct Lauryna Brusokaite as a full member of the Rotary Club of Northampton Becket.

8th - 12th May President's Weekend Away in Cardiff

The highlight of Rotary Club of Northampton Becket's President's Weekend Away in Cardiff was Saturday's meal at Valentino's Restaurant when President Lynn Kitchen presented Gordon Roan with a Paul Harris Award for his service to the Club and the Community.
A much deserved recognition of his tireless work in raising funding for our Projects in Malawi.
Well done Gordon!

This morning the Rotary Club of Northampton Becket visited children attending The Emmanuel Group Of Churches, Northampton FISH project and gifted them Easter eggs donated by the club
