Special General Meeting

Tue, Nov 20th 2018 at 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The major event of Tuesday’s meeting was the induction of new member Issi Douglas.

Club President, John Spittal, New Member Issi Douglas and George Macintosh

In proposing her for membership, George McIntosh said he had pestered Issi over many years to consider joining Rotary and now his efforts had borne fruit.

Born in Dundee and a former Harris Academy and St Leonard’s pupil, Issi had then spent 25 years in Sydney before returning to her native land.

For the past 20 years she has been reservations secretary at St Andrews Links.

In the formal induction, President John Spittal said it was a great pleasure to duly elect Issi to the Rotary Club of Kilrymont St Andrews. It was certain that Issi would contribute fully to Rotary, which is of course a service club, and follow the mantra of service before self.

There would also be a rewarding benefit in the opportunity to meet other Rotarians worldwide.

Following the formal part of the proceedings, Issi was warmly welcomed individually by each member present.

The remainder of the evening involved the selection of office bearers for next year’s session.
