John Fernie has taken over as president of Kilrymont St Andrews Rotary Club.
At a handover ceremony this week, outgoing president John Spittal, who has served for two years, thanked the club members for their support.
John said that during his presidency he had seen a gratifying increase in membership and more fellowship events.
He said the club was welcoming and forward-thinking. During his tenure one of the highlights was the 21st charter dinner in 2017.
John added that last year the club had raised almost £15,000 for local and national charities.
He wished his successor well for the next year.
John Fernie paid tribute to John’s term as president and handed over a quaich to mark his service to the club and the community.
