Bowls then a meal at Girton Golf Club. Meet promptly at 5.45pm at the Green.

BOOKING WITH ALAN F.

Tonight we had fun messing about with Bowls at Girton Bowls Club Green, Wellbrooke Way, Girton.

We had a lovely balmy evening to enjoy and 20 players had an hours fun in groups of 6 trying our hand at getting somewhere near the golden jacks.  After some mixed success we then finished off with a Playoff - who could get nearest to the final jack ?  Roger was our judge and jury and declared Mavis came out best with a final beautifully delivered wood. She was delighted to be presented with a nice bottle of wine.

The big surprise of the event was for Mike Smith.  Unbeknown to him Jan & Council had nominated him, on behalf of the Club, for the District Citizens Award for his devoted work with the ambitious annual Homeless Football Tournament and the Peace Project.  Nick Corke (District ComVoc Chair) took a great deal of time and effort to come to Girton just to present the framed certificate on the Green.  Well Done Mike - Richly Deserved !

We then enjoyed another tasty roast meal at the Girton Golf Club, Dodford Lane, Girton - Yum !

Menu

Roast Beef, Yorkshires and Veg

OR

Mushroon & Chickpea Stroganoff

Dessert - Fruit Pavlova then Tea & Coffee & Mints.
