Although this date is after the 21st June, when all the Covid restrictions are expected to be lifted, we will of course conform to any additional wishes that the gardeners or visitors may have.     Being out of doors,  almost naturally ‘socially distancing’ and usually attended by singles, couples or  families rarely exceeding more than four, and continually ‘on the move’.   Such an event could hardly be more Covid compliant.  It has also been suggested that the cohort of people who like to visit gardens, are most likely to have had all their ‘jabs’ by then in any case.

Of course, because of the Covid lockdown, the event had to be cancelled in 2020.  It also affected all of the events that attracted visitors to our village.    However, having said that, there has been a marked increase in walking visitors at weekends, so perhaps there is a pent up desire, for people to not just get out and about, but have something to see as well.

Most  of the residents in Frampton, have been aware over the years, of the Hidden Gardens event held each year.  It was originally started many years ago, by one of our previous residents, who also  was a member of Stonehouse Rotary.   The Club agreed to facilitate the event with the logistical support required to ensure it’s smooth operation.   It was also agreed that the results could provide significant support to the benefit of  the village as well as other Rotary charities.  In various ways over the years, it has done so.  A significant number of gardeners joined in and we were also fortunate to have the support of  the Clifford family, who agreed to open  both the Manor and Court gardens in those days.
