Foundation 2025/26 - Chair Andy Smith
We continue to pursue the seven objectives of Rotary Foundation
1. Basic Education and Literacy - We have recently purchased educational books for junior school children dealing with social and environmental issues and have personally visited five, giving copies of books.
2. Maternal and Child Health - Two years ago we began an association with "African Adventurers" who provide daily meals for school children in poorer parts of Africa. We have recently presented a cheque to them which enabled some schools in Ghana, Tanzania and Zanzibar to be provided with Xmas lunches.
3. Protecting the Environment - We have a number of ongoing projects in the community. Please see our Community Projects section located in the What We Do menu.
4. Disease Prevention and Treatment - We continue to support fundraising for "End Polio Now" and have donated Quiz takings to "Mercy Ships". Also, we have finalised a global grant for "Kangando Hospital"
5. Water, Sanitation and Hygiene - Our support for disaster stricken areas continues with a "Shelter Box" donation providing an entire box for the Myanmar earthquake together with other donations totalling £988.

7. Peace Building and Conflict Prevention - At Rotary Parkstone we continue to do our best to ease the state of those suffering the impact of conflict. During the coming year we will be supporting a number of ongoing projects
International 2025/2026 - Chair Paolo Bonnani
Looking ahead to the new Rotary year we continue to support activities that have proved successful for the club as well as being prepared to respond promptly should a natural disaster occur anywhere in the world.
1. Lend with Care - To date a total of £3720 has been loaned to 1110 entrepreneurs around the world creating 245 jobs and and helping over 5000 people.
2. Collections - We continue with collections for disasters as they occur anywhere in the world
3. Ink Cartridges - The collection of empty ink cartridges has been an ongoing initiative for over 20 years
4. Quiz Night - This event has become a regular feature for 11 years and on average raises over £1000 for numerous charities at home and abroad.
5. Shoe Boxes - During the past year Parkstone Rotary have sent 30 Shoe Boxes to Eastern Europe including Ukraine.
6. Shelter Box - As reported above we have contributed to Shelter Box including £488 to Myanmar.
7. International Charities - During 2025 we have supported "Uganda Library" with £385, Ukraine Water Fountain with £250 and "African Adventures" with £250.
