The Rotary club met at Mansfield House Hotel and Vice President Mairhi Trickett welcomed 10 visitors from Langholm Rotary Club. President Iain Smith sent his greetings and apologies for missing the meeting. An excellent dinner was enjoyed, and a happy atmosphere ensued with lots of laughter and banter among everyone.
After dinner Andy Tyler presented a cleverly constructed quiz with the theme of May and in particular, the 1st of May for the first Questions. Teams of two were organised and after 20 questions George Thorburn and Kenneth Poole scored 17 out of 20 and won the quiz. President Neil Gass of Langholm gave a vote of thanks to the Hawick club and the meeting closed with the traditional toast to Rotary the World Over.
