Our Rotary activity is not all just about raising money and supporting folks at home or abroad. We have other fun too, in fact in recent times that has become much more of a feature of our Rotary life.
We all like quizzes, no matter how much we might moan about their being too hard. We have domino tournaments, and we've had a beetle drive. We have 'hat nights' when names are drawn from a hat and the lucky (?) three have to speak on a topic of their choice for five minutes. We have summer lawn bowls and golf tournaments, more light-hearted than serious. We have guest speakers on topics ranging from being a jockey to medical boats in the Amazonia interior. We have Christmas party nights and we have Scots nights - not Burns Nights because under the title Scots Nights the programme can be so much more varied.
In Rotary year 2022-23 we're going to start meeting more or less fortnightly, on the second and lat Thursdays of the month. The plan is that in the weeks in-between, when we have no formal programme, we can get up to mischief - an Indian meal in another town, a visit to the cinema, a sporting activity - just some other adventure!
Let's see how it goes.
