Shelter Box is run by the Shelter Box Trust, an organisation with worldwide affiliations. The money raised have provided releif to areas affected by disasters (Haiti, Pakistan, China etc.). The trust was founded by Rotarian Tom Henderson a Royal Navy Search & Rescue Diver & is now firmly established in the forefront of disaster relief. The typical contents of a box are: 10 person tent. Blankets, Ground sheet, Multi fuel stove, Water containers & Purification kit.
On many occasions the fundraising and item collection was done in conjunction with local schools also Thame Girl Guides & Brownies Troops.
