Skipton Rotary endeavours to create opportunities for young people through activities that build character & confidence along with new skills in the process.

Youth Service

Thousands of youngsters take part every year in Rotary youth competitions which in most cases take the form of regional heats followed by a national final. The majority are categorised into junior, intermediate and advanced age groups.

Rotary GB&I Young Artist

The Young Artist competition is run over the course of a school year, in three or four different heats; club level, district, regional and culminating in the national final.  The competition is open to students in full time education in three age groups:

Junior

Intermediate 

11

 to 

13 years

Senior

14

 to 

17 years

 

 

 

 

Budding young painters, illustrators and artists can showcase their creative flair with a wide audience by taking part in the Rotary Young Artist competition. Participants have the opportunity to interpret the competition's annual theme and set their creativity free.

Rotary GB&I Young Chef

Cooking amongst young people is a valuable life skill. Contestants prepare and present a three course meal within a pre-set budget and time limit, which is judged by an expert panel.

Rotary GB&I Youth Speaks

We encourage speaking and presentation skills in young people and this competition showcases superb quality speakers.

Rotary GB&I Young Musician

Music is an international language and we encourage talented young people by providing this opportunity to demonstrate their musical skills.

Rotary GB&I Young Photographer

Entrants submit three photographs on a theme in black and white or colour, along with a description of the inspiration for their photographs.

Rotary GB&I Young Writer

A flair for creative writing is a special gift and this competition promotes and encourages the work of young people who show talent. The winning writers are published in Rotary magazines.

Rotary GB&I Technology Tournament

Teams of students interested in engineering and science compete in a one day event to devise and build a solution to an unseen technical task.  Solutions are tested & judged against competitors.

Rotary GB&I Young Citizen Awards

These showcase the citizenship and responsibilities demonstrated by people under the age of 25. Winners receive a cash prize of £500 at our annual conference where the awards are presented.

RYLA 

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards for youngsters aged between 16 and 18, looking for excitement, have a spirit of adventure, want a challenge that'll stretch them. Applicants want to develop as a leader and at the same time have fun and make new friends. 

Ocean Youth Trust

We also sponsor youngsters to sail with OYT - OYT's website .com is not safe. Their .org.uk website is not secure either.  For any further infomation please Andrew below.

Grants for Travel Projects with Personal Development objectives

Rotary Young Artist & Photographer Exhibition

more Celebrate the creativity of young people in the Craven district. Venue is Craven Arts House, 55 Otley Street, Skipton. The exhibition is open Wed - Saturday 11am to 4pm at Craven Arts House between Friday 23rd February and Saturday 30th March.
