Nick Aveyard Spent Time in Kingston, Jamaica and Kuching, Malaysian Borneo

"I spent the first half of my elective in Kingston working at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) and at Kingston Public Hospital (KPH). Kingston has a far higher rate of violent crime than that of the UK. I therefore learnt valuable lessons in how emergency medicine must be flexible and adapt to meet the varying demands of different cities."

"I am extremely grateful to the Skipton Rotary Club for supporting me.  It gave me a valuable insight into how healthcare is provided in developing countries as well as allowing me to further explore critical care medicine.  It reinforced my commitment to this area of medicine as well as inspring me to practice medicine abroad in the future."
