History of our Club
The Inner Wheel Club of Guernsey was formed on 30th January 1947 and the inaugural meeting was held at The Royal Hotel. Subscriptions were set at 10/6 per annum and meetings were held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month.
The Club was officially chartered on 24th September 1947.
The Guernsey Club is part of District 11 and we have close links with our friends both in the UK and in Jersey and we visit both District, National and Channel Island events whenever possible. We currently have 39 members and 2 Honorary members, one of whom is Lady Corder, the wife of our Lieutenant Governor.
How we operate
Our Club meets on the third Wednesday of each month from September to June at La Villette Hotel at 7:00 for 7:30 p.m. We have either a business meeting and/or a speaker and we also have various other social, fun and fund raising events. Throughout the year we support the work of the Rotary Clubs in Guernsey and each year our President nominates a charity for which we raise funds. This year President Pat Child has chosen Guernsey Alzheimer's Association.
