Presentation of Rotary Stars

Each Pupil receiving a Rotary Star is given a copy of the following letter:

This Rotary Star has been awarded to you because you have shown yourself to be a very special person and "Gone the Extra Mile"

For your information, Rotary International is an organisation of business men and women founded in 1905. There are 1.2 million members belonging to 32,000 clubs in over 200 countries. It is a service organisation which means that each club raises money to give to people who need or deserve help or reward.

Your Local Rotary Club is called The Rotary Club of Danetre and we learned that there are some children who are doing some outstanding things and going the extra mile. They are carrying out lovely or selfless acts which are going unrecognised.

So, we decided to ask your teachers to choose who should be awarded a Rotary Star and a small gift to show that their behaviour had been noticed. You were chosen.

Congratulations and well done. Keep being special.
