John Harte, who is a member of Paisley Rotary Club and is part of the security team at Kibble School talked about his fund-raising activities for the Accord Hospice,
John explained that he has taken part in several sponsored walks for Accord, the latest being last October and featured a six day trek through Jordan. He and three colleagues joined eleven others assembled in Amman to trek to Petra through the desert, accompanied by a guide, an armed policeman and a ground support team carrying food, water and tents. The walk was over rough, undulating terrain and was quite punishing but Petra was duly reached. The amount raised for Accord (35k) made it so worthwhile.
