Young Enterprise 2015

Young people set up a business, run it for 9 months and then wind it up! All part of the process of learning what business is all about under the guidance of volunteer advisers.

Rotary have supported Young Enterprise in Jersey since 1987 when the Jersey Area Board was first formed. Our members have acted as advisers and members of the Area Board over the years and each spring the current year's Young Enterprise companies come to a club meeting to practice presentations of their companies' activities. This helps them to prepare for the competitive presentations they have to make in April or May each year as part of the process to judge the Jersey Young Enterprise Company of the year. The winner goes on to represent Jersey in Regional finals in the UK.

This year's companies presented at a recent meeting of the Rotary Club of Jersey. Five companies gave us details of their products, their marketing techniques and their financial results. Lessons were well learnt on team building and communication. All agreed that they learnt most from the mistakes they made and that the experience was one which would ultimately help them to decide whether a career in busines was right for them.

The finals of the 2015 competition were held on 7th May and details are given here.

This year two companies have asked us to link to their on line presence:
