Stirling Rotary Meeting 23rd. October 2015
President Peter Mehta welcomed an excellent turnout of members, together with visitor Jane Wilson and Assistant District Governor Alistair Spowage. Our Gavel (pub games) team, champions from last year, had suffered a defeat but retained every hope of fighting back in the next match. The presence of the ADG was to recognise an important landmark in the life of the club, namely the 90th. anniversary of our first lunchtime meeting. Alistair offered his congratulations in a brief speech and wished us every success in the future. Alex Scott being the oldest member in our club proposed the toast to Stirling Rotary Club. There was a cake in honour of the occasion and Sandy Morrison being the longest serving member of our club had the privilege of cutting it, which was shared by all present.
This week’s Speakers Host is Gordon Murphy. More information on Stirling Rotary Club can be found on the club’s site www.stirling.rotary1010.org.
