Tidy up Barrow

Thu, Sep 17th 2015 at 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

A couple of areas in Barrow were given the tidy up treatment by members of the Rotary Club of Furness Peninsula.

Forsaking their usual weekly meeting at Michaelson House Hotel a group of around ten members decided to clean up Channelside Walk and the picnic area and park off Phoenix Road.

Club President Angela Fryer says the group worked very hard and collected over a dozen bags of rubbish. “It was mainly empty plastic bottles and fast food containers although we also came across a traffic bollard as well.”

The club would like to thank Barrow Borough Council for providing litter pickers and bags and disposing of the rubbish.

Stewards for the evening should be at the venue NO later than 6:30pm and should find a replacement to act for them if they are unable to attend. If a meeting is cancelled this list stays as it is - it does NOT move forward by a week.
