Chris Rhodes is a qualified guide to London. He has a very persuasive speaking style,  and he surely keep his tours enthralled. In this talk, he took us through several London landmarks, and told us some amusing stories about them; how Wren fooled King Charles the Second into thinking he was building a dome for St Pauls ‘which didn’t look Catholic’, when in fact it did – how the majestic funeral carriage for Wellington was too high; and the grand Duke’s coffin had to be removed from the top to pass under an arch.; how the French wanted Waterloo station’s name to be changed as it would be too upsetting for French Eurostar passengers to pass through it......  So many lovely stories; all very entertaining.
