Hi there! A few weeks ago I started my LLM at Cambridge University as a member ofChrist’s College. I am originally from Australia but have lived most of my life in the Netherlands.
For the past four years I lived in the Hague, which is where I did my undergraduate degree at LeidenUniversity College – an interdisciplinary programme that focuses on tackling global challenges.
I majored in international law, but also took numerous courses in the humanities. I graduated in 2014, after which I began an LLM at Leiden University in Public International Law, from which I graduated just a few months ago. My ambition is to pursue a PhD focusing on the protection of tangible and intangible cultural heritage through international law. I have always been a big fan of art and culture, and this passion has steadily worked itself into my academic work: my BA thesis was on the topic of cultural genocide; my first LLM thesis examined cultural rights and Japanese whaling; this year I will be looking at the protection of intangible heritage through international intellectual property law.
I also worked for some time at a legal body in the Netherlands concerned with the restitution of Nazi-looted artworks to their original owners.
As for extracurriculars: I’m a particular fan of singing, so have joined the choir at Christ’s College, and amalso going to be an editor for the Cambridge Journal of International and Comparative Law.I’m pursuing a Master of Philosophy in Social Anthropology at St. John's College,
