Born Edinburgh April 1951 ; schooling at Daniel Stewart's College and after
moving to Glasgow in 1960 at The High School of Glasgow.
Intended to study law , but instead joined stockbroking firm , Easton Goff and Co.
as Trainee after a summer placement .
Apart from four years in moneybroking , career spent in stockbroking
in Glasgow. Elected a Member of The Stock Exchange 1983.
Barclays Wealth / Gerrard is a direct successor of Easton Goff through several
mergers - Easton Watson & Smith, Penney Easton, Allied Provincial Parsons Penney and
Greig Middleton.
Member of The Merchants House of Glasgow at the invitation of the then Lord Dean
of Guild , David Galbraith, and a fellow Partner of Penney Easton.
Director 2001 , when Alastair Denholm was Lord Dean. Served on the
Pensions, Finance and Adjustment of Business and Investment
Committees. Re-elected as Director in 2008 after his fallow year.
May 2009 – May 2011 served as the 222nd Lord Dean of Guild of Glasgow, as as such
held the position of 2nd Citizen of Glasgow.
On behalf of The Merchants House held numerous offices, trusteeships etc,
ex officio, of institutions, and organisations within the City.
May 2011 – Sub Dean of Guild, and May 2013 ex officio Director until 2017

Graeme served as Chief Sergeant-at-Arms for the 2005 Rotary International Great Britain and Ireland ( Rotary GB&I ) Conference in Manchester, with responsibility for the working team
( 50+ )of volunteers at all locations over the 3 day event. He has been part of the Sergeant at Arms Leaders Team as an Asst CSAA at several Rotary GB&I assemblies and conferences, most recently in 2009, 2010, in April 2011 in Dublin.
Served Rotary at several International Conventions, beginning in Glasgow 1997, as a Team Leader of volunteer SAAs, as a Deputy Sergeant and as Chief Asst Sergeant, on duties including VIP welcoming and seating, hosting and information, venue management, transport information, and general stewarding.

Club reflects his great interest in naval and maritime history about
which he continues to try and fill his home with more and more books!

Other hobbies and interests include gardening, travel ( especially cruising)
and trying to keep fit. He is a regular gym attender and jogs to keep fit and possesses several prized 10K medals! Other sports include occasional golf and curling both more on a social and non seriously competitive basis.
