Dr Nao sent this information prior to coming to Glasgow University to study for a masters degree:
I am a 38-year-old man and my nationality is Japan. Since completing a two-year residency programme, I have worked as a psychiatrist for eight years. For recent four years, I have been working for Nagoya City University Hospital as a clinical research fellow. My subspecialty is psychosocial interventions such as family psychoeducation and cognitive behavioural therapy. By using these kinds of interventions, I want to try to improve the mental health of family members who have patients with mental illness and that of workers with the illness in local community.
