Tonight we have a talk on Metal Detecting and local History - Ron Bennett explains how his hobby has become a passion.

He lives in the village of Balsham in South Cambridgeshire. In 1970 he took up metal detecting as a hobby having always had an interest in local history and history in general. He finds it fascinating to think what people did in the past. He started by watching metal detecting videos on YouTube.

He has been the chair of the Physical Disabilities Board of Cambridgeshire and a trustee for Cambridge Alliance for Independent Living, an organisation that works with the county council to insure that service users in Cambridge get better services. He has also fundraised for Cambridge Headway by giving talks to local community groups about living with a brain injury and has published a pamphlet for people with brain injuries in how to cope with their injuries in every day life and what aides they can use to make their life better.

Followed by a Charter Dinner Team meeting (Burman)
