Fundraising and Support for Charities/ Charity Awards Event 26th June 2017
Over £17,000 awarded to charities at Charity Awards Night
More than 50 people attended the event held at Slates Restaurant, which marked the end of our fundraising year with president Peter Summers and Community Chairman/ President Elect Alan Brown at the helm. In total over £17,000 has been raised, and donations were made to Fifteen charities, including Headway Suffolk, Bury Womens Refuge, the NSPCC, Bury Drop in Centre, and Suffolk Young Carers, all of the above charities were represented at the event. In addition the club has made donations to the Rotary shelterbox project, and Rotraract Bury St Edmunds who have beena fabulous support in our fundraising efforts this year.
Thanks to all the hardworking volunteers representing these charities who work tirelessly to help our community become a better place.
Special thanks were given to Alan for arranging the event, to Bridget Alexander for spearheading the fundraisng efforts, and to all our members who have set up and supported the many fundraising events this year.
