LIFE INSIDE ROTARY INTERNATIONAL


Allan, who is a member of the Rotary Club of Elland, has a long and distinguished track record in providing training and education in engineering for school leavers as well as being involved in a raft of local community based charitable causes and projects.

Allan joined the Rotary Club of Elland in 1983 and served as District Governor for the Yorkshire area in 1999 before becoming President of Rotary GB&I in 2007. Allan has served RI and TRF as member and chairman of several committees and was RI Training Leader 2005 & 2006. Elected as RI Director 2011-12 for Zone 17 & 18a Allan was a member of the RI Administration Committee, RI COL Committee and the $200 million Challenge Committee. Allan also serves as Liaison Director to the RI Communications Committee and as advisor the RI Executive Committee. He is currently the Chairman of the RI Membership Committee.

Allan and Rose have three married children and eight grandchildren. Rose is a Past President of the Inner Wheel Club of Elland. Allan enjoys caravanning, learning computer skills, gardening and travel with Rose. Allan has been a lifelong supporter of the Scout Movement and admits to being a fanatical supporter of Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Club.
