Fund Raising Philosophy.
Throughout the year the Rotary Club of Crowthorne and
Sandhurst organises a range of fund raising activities designed to be both
effective and, fun for those who kindly donate and for Rotary members.
Our flagship event is the New Year’s Day walk at Wellington
College which has been very successful for several years. This enables visitors
to walk the lovely grounds of Wellington College on a designated route and to
take advantage of hot butties and drinks either as energy to start the walk or
as a reward for completing it.
Other fund raising events include quiz nights, attendance at
local fairs and traditional street collections, sometimes in support of major
national events such as Children in Need. Each year we look for new ideas.
At all events we name the charities we are collecting for so
those donating are aware of who they are helping.
The pandemic of 2020 and 2021 has severely restricted the Clubs fundraising activities but we are now hoping to be more active and have already started the planning for 2022’s New Year’s Day Walk.
