Fund Raising Philosophy.

Throughout the year the Rotary Club of Crowthorne, Sandhurst and Bracknell organises a range of fund raising activities designed to be both effective and fun for those who take part.

Our flagship events are now well recognised and supported by our community.

A Service of Nine Lessons and Carols.

This is a traditional service celebrated on or near Christmas Eve and tells story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus. The story is told in nine short readings by Rotary members interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols and choir anthems. Guests are invited to a mince pie and wine reception after the event.

The service is held in the historic chapel at Wellington College, Crowthorne. All are welcome.

New Year’s Day Walk.

New Year’s Day walk at Wellington College includes a popular Children’s Trail to kep the younger visitors fully occupied. This event is established as firm favourite with families and dog walkers as well as those who simply enjoy a nice walk. Refreshments are available either to give you the energy for the walk or as a reward for compelting it.

A wheel chair friendly route is available.

Other events.

Other fund raising events include a quiz night, attendance at local fairs and traditional street collections, sometimes in support of major national events such as Children in Need.

Each year we look for new ideas.

At all events we name the charities we are collecting for so those donating are aware of who they are helping.

Each year we look for new ideas and welcome suggestions.
