The presentation of Community Grants for 2017 was made on 20th July at Doncaster Rugby Club.
Awards were made to 26 different local organisations and charities totally over £21,300. 23 of the recipient organisations were able to be represented in person at the presentation.
Groups included organisations for young people and children including scouts, guides and brownies and a new Youth Club. Various organisations which help disabled people of various ages were supported ,including a mother and toddler group for deaf people, a group which makes appliances for physically disabled people and various organisations seeking to help people with dementia. Activities in two Community Libraries were also supported, as were Community Centres and Austerfield Study Centre, particularly with its work with disabled children and young people.
The evening was a great success and the Rotary Club of Doncaster St. George's is delighted, through its various fund raising activities, to help many groups in their work in the Doncaster area.
