Club Meeting at Oake Manor Golf Club

Tue, Sep 12th 2017 at 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Note: TUESDAY, meeting our Indian visitors

September is going to see an unusual sequence of dates. The 2nd Monday meeting was moved to Tuesday to enable us to welcome visitors from India, the 3rd Monday, 18th will be a Special Business Meeting, and the 4th Monday will be the Moonraker Test Walk.

Hosting Rotarians and their guests, to whom they had only been paired that morning, were joined by other Taunton Vale members and partners at Oake Manor for a fine meal, chaired by President Colin.

Alison Brown, Richard and Margaret Austin, had visited South India’s Kerala District 3201, earlier in the year, as part of a Rotary Friendship Exchange, which aims to further experience of other cultures and broaden International understanding. The Indian’s return visit to three Clubs in our District, will enable Taunton Vale to show off some of our past projects.

Representing Clubs in Cochin, Coimbatore, Shoranur, Trichur in Kerala and Tamil Nadu States, each delegate presented a Banner and gave a short summary of their professional and Rotary history.

Thanks were expressed by duty rotarian Stuart Berry, who also reminded us of the need to chase up potential Moonraker teams.

Bill Tregillus will be looking for walkers and drivers for the Test Walk from 5.30 pm on Monday 25th, starting from the Merry Monk, Monkton Heathfield, with food there later.

Notices about the Special Business Meeting and voting procedure are being sent by the Secretary.
