Lend with Care brings together entrepreneurs in developing countries with people with the power to help them - either individuals or organisations. It is run by one of the world's leading aid and development organisations.  Click here to visit their website.

Lend with Care is a revolutionary way to help people in the developing world to transform their lives.

It starts with an idea.  Whether it's opening a market stall,  or perhaps a small tailoring business,  or diversifying the crops they grow, people across the developing world are bursting with business ideas -all they need is a helping hand to get started.

They approach a local Microfinance Institution (MFI) that is a Lend with Care partner.   

And if their ideas show promise,  they get the go-ahead for the loan they need to get their business going.

The support, training and loan to the entrepreneur would have already been agreed by the MFI in advance of the loan being posted on the lendwithcare.org website. By doing this the entrepreneur’s plans can proceed without delay with the added benefit that all loans posted are effectively pre-assessed for viability regardless of future funding through lendwithcare.org. Importantly the support provided by the MFI does continue throughout the lifecycle of the loan that we and others have now supplied.    

The MFI uploads the entrepreneur’s profile to Lendwithcare. You can see these in the entrepreneurs.

section, where you can choose which promising business idea you’d like to support. Having chosen the entrepreneur you then choose the amount you want to lend. Once the loan has been fully funded.

CARE International UK will transfer funds to the microfinance institution (MFI). The relationship between CARE and the MFIs used is a long-standing and successful one. The entrepreneur pays back their loan in monthly installments to MFI, which transfers these repayments to CARE International.

You can then either re-lend this amount helping more entrepreneurs turn their ideas and hopes for a better future into reality, withdraw it from CARE altogether, or donate it to CARE as a gift.

Since we started lending to entrepreneurs on 15th January 2016. We have so far MADE 57 LOANS, HELPED 373 ENTREPRENERS, HELPED 918 FAMILY MEMBERS, CREATED 98 JOBS. Shortly we will be helping more entrepreneurs.   

The strategy of the committee is to select entrepreneurs in a spread of countries; individuals as well as groups; short, medium and long term repayments; range of different activities.
