Olivia a pupil from The Thomas Hardy School, sponsored by Dorchester Casterbridge Rotary Club went to the District Final of Rotary GB&I Young Chef at King Alfred School in Highbridge. After two hours of cooking Olivia was chosen as one of the three equally placed winners to go through to the next round, the Regional Final at Taunton College on Saturday 17th March.
The eight Young Chefs took part, sponsored by clubs from all around Rotary District 1200, each cooked a three-course meal and then presented their meal for the judges on decorated tables with menus and full costings.
Olivia has received considerable support in the competition from her Food Technology teacher, Sally Voss, and professional chef, Mark Vaughan, of Brace of Butchers in Poundbury, Dorchester.
Casterbridge Rotary Club President, Les Fry, said "We are all very proud of Olivia's achievements today and we wish her every success in the next round."
