The last 'visit' of this Rotary year and this time 24 Rotarians visited the Joint Emergency Service Conrol Centre (JESCC) where the call handling for all 4 emergency services (Police, Fire and Rescue, Ambulance and Coastguard) is handled under one roof enabling incidents to be responded to in a truly co-ordinated and multi-agency way.
The JESCC is believed to be the only facility of this type in the world and is attracting interest from other jurisdictions. The technology employed to provide the service is impressive.
After the visit members enjoyed an enjoyable supper at Urban Kitchen.
Thanks are due to Anthony Jones of the JESCC for allowing the visit and to Tony Spruce for all the arrangements.
