Speaker - Richard Thomas

Tony and Richard delivered a fascinating talk on first aid which quickly drew the attention of all in the room as their sharing of the effects of CPR and the needs for using defibrillators unfolded.

We realised that" having a go" was of paramount importance, that any attempt is never a lost course!

Most(if not all of us) had ever opened a defibrillator and gained access to the the easy to follow instructions, remembering that CPR should never cease until the the defibrillator is activated and both procedures continued until the arrival of the medics.

Perhaps one of the salient points is that the defibrillator is designed to recognise abnormalities in heart beat rhythm and activate a shock if appropriate.

So, don't hesitate,do have a go!    Just watch Bryan her having a practice!
