This is the 5th year that Pinner Rotarians have organised the event. Helped by good weather – and the power of social media – record numbers of children and their parents turned out to greet the special visitor. Over the six evening trips, many children (and one well-behaved dog) let Santa know their Christmas wishes and had their picture taken to show to friends and family. Given the numbers eager to join in the excitement, keeping to schedule was a major challenge.
Whilst Santa entertained the children, his band of elves spread the word of his arrival and also sought donations from the public. Thanks to people’s generosity and our friends who volunteered their time, we were able to collect around £4,500 for our President's charity, Alzheimer’s Research, and other Rotary supported charities.
